There  NEVER  was a time, when I didn't feel called to be a Youth Pastor.....

I was lucky to have grown up with a great youth pastor. For as long as I can remember, I have felt a call on my life to work with youth. In order to be a youth pastor, you must love youth, which many parents would know can be the hardest and easiest thing to do at the same time. We all know why it can be hard so I am going to focus on why it can be easy with this list of five reasons it is easy to love the youth.

  1. Youth are fun...

I love hanging out with youth because they are lots of fun! They see the world in a beautiful way and are constantly laughing and enjoying life.

  1. They are up next...

I love the youth because of the reality that they are the next generation of parents, doctors, pastors or whatever they end up being, our community will be in their hands so I will always cheer them on.

  1. They are smart...

The youth of today have more resources to learn than ever before, I think there are many chances for us to learn so much from them.

  1. Youth are eager...

Youths when motivated are the most eager to jump in so they can help and learn and this is something that adults learn from young people.

  1. God calls us to love the youth...

Scripture is clear on our call to love, and the youth are not left out from that call, youth are the children of God and we should love them as God loves them.

We find a verse in Timothy that I encourage everyone to share with their children as I grew up being encouraged with this verse. 1 Timothy 4:12 “don’t let anyone look down upon you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity”. God has great plans for young people and I will do my best to love the youth and push them to grow their relationship with Jesus, as well as become the best humans they can be. I believe future generations are in great hands.
