Dearly Beloved,
This Summer, I want you to hear from the people we empower with our giving and prayer. Each of our upcoming Dearly Beloveds will feature a message from one of our CPC missions partners TO YOU!
Right now we are seeing lives touched and transformed by Jesus right here in the Comox Valley and -literally- around the world through your lives and through our partnerships. Today I want you to consider what Robbie has to say to you.
Shalom,
Pastor Mike
Hi CPC Family,
My name is Robbie Taylor, and I serve as the Executive Director of Youth Unlimited™ YFC Comox Valley. First, I would like to express our sincere gratitude for your ongoing prayers and financial support. You have been a part of empowering us as an organization to go and serve young people in this community for over 30 years, making a real difference in their lives. Our mission is to see every young person living fully in Christ. At the heart of this calling is the resurrection life that Jesus offers—a life empowered by the Holy Spirit that brings true transformation, hope, and freedom from darkness (Romans 8:11). Through authentic relationships, upward conversations, mentorship, and weekly programs, we walk alongside youth in our community, inviting them into a personal encounter with Jesus. Whether through sports, creative arts programs, after-school clubs, or lunchtime connections, we seek to create meaningful opportunities where young people can belong, wrestle with faith, and discover the hope found only in Jesus. He is not merely about religion or rules; He is about life—abundant, free, and forever changed (John 10:10).
Jesus calls us not only to receive His life but to be sent out as His ambassadors in the world (John 20:21). The Comox Valley is a mission field entrusted to us, filled with people longing for hope, healing, and freedom. The Holy Spirit equips and empowers us to shine His light in places of darkness, to bring the good news of freedom and new life to those around us (Acts 1:8). Each one of us—no matter our age or role—has a part to play in building God’s kingdom here on earth. Imagine if every CPC member embraced this calling, living intentionally as missionaries in their schools, workplaces, and neighbourhoods. Together, we can witness the transforming power of Jesus at work in changing families, schools, and communities.
As you re-vision local mission and the calling of the church, I encourage you to first seek God for revival in your own heart. Let the Holy Spirit ignite a fresh passion for Jesus within you, so that the mission flows out of a heart alive with His presence. Remember Romans 12:1-2 from The Message: “So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.”
As you go about your daily life, let God work through you—get involved in your community, volunteer where there is a need, and be the light in your neighbourhood. Mission isn’t about doing more; it’s about being filled with His life and love, then being obedient to His leading. Ask God daily, “Who are You sending me to today?” (Isaiah 6:8). Small acts of love, prayer, and presence can have an eternal impact. We’re praying with you and for you, believing God will use each of us to bring His kingdom of life, freedom, faithfulness, forgiveness, and renewal to the Comox Valley. Together, let’s walk in faith and courage, knowing that Jesus is building His church—and that we are His hands and feet in this generation.
Thank you again for your faithful partnership through prayer and financial support. It is because of you that we are able to walk alongside young people and help bring Jesus’ hope and transformation to our community.
Till Kingdom Come!
Robbie Taylor
