Hello Comox Pentecostal!

We are Phil and Judy Bowler, and we serve in western Africa in the country of Guinea. Guinea is a very poor country that is 90% Muslim and where only 30% of the population can read and write. As you can imagine, this provides many challenges and opportunities to bring hope of Christ in practical and spiritual ways.

Our task is much the same as yours; we look to see where God the Father is working and then partner with him in his work! This could be individuals or Christian ministries. With individuals, we pray and then intentionally engage in casual conversations with people in our community, which inevitably leads to meaningful issues of family, struggles, and joys. From that point we can share our own stories of how Christ has helped us in similar situations. We find that people, especially Muslims, deeply appreciate being prayed for. Prayer is absolutely essential to reaching people, so we pray! We pray together with others for the lost. We plead with God individually. And we do Prayer Walking! This is where we walk through a community in pairs and pray for what we see, hear, and experience. It's so helpful in getting Father's heart for the lost.

With Christian ministries, we look where the favour of God is resting and being fruitful. Then we support them in whatever way we can through prayer, finances, and involvement.

Although our context is different from yours, Jesus is still calling the lost, the broken, and the prodigals to come home to their Father and find the joy and hope that is only found in him.
