Dearly Beloved,

Waymaker. Miracle Worker. Promise Keeper. Light in the Darkness. My God, that is who you are.

These were the words that I watched 70 kids sing a few weeks ago at kids camp. Every time I see children worship and hear their voices singing, I just know that God is so much bigger than we give Him credit for. He speaks to children, He works in their lives, and they can hear his voice and give Him glory. There is something so beautiful about watching kids declare the very nature and character of God over their own lives.

I know this for sure, children can learn to love worship, and engage in worship so beautifully and humbly. And this is what we’re hoping to see as we launch into Fall 2025: kids who grow in their love for worship, the word, and prayer. Kids who are becoming fully formed disciples of Jesus.

As you may know, a few things are changing in kids ministry at CPC this fall. We’ll be starting kids ministry at 9 am & 11 am, instead of keeping the kids upstairs for worship. One of the main reasons for this is that our church is growing! More people, more families, more kids, more numbers that represent rescued people. This is something worth celebrating! We’ve had to make space for all these new people, so we’ve decided to bring the kids downstairs for the entire service.

Please know that Pastor Garrett & I think your children are so valuable, and we know that God can speak to them, and so we’re working towards creating an experience for them downstairs that will hopefully cultivate a love for Jesus and His Word.

We’re excited, because we hope that by having more time with your kids on Sunday mornings, we’ll be able to spend time in worship and in prayer, in a kid-friendly environment. We want you to know that this will not be childcare, but kids CHURCH. They will experience all the same things they would upstairs, just in a way that is designed for them to learn in the best way possible. They’ll engage in worship, prayer, communion, and we’ll open the Bible together every single week.

I know many of you are still Christians today because of kids ministries, or youth ministries, or camps you went to when you were young, and so you know the importance of this ministry. We’re playing the long game. We don’t always see the fruit right before our eyes, but we know that we are setting foundations. Our hope is that each child who comes to CPC Kids would have a positive emotional experience inside the Church, and that ultimately they would meet Jesus.

After kids camp this year, I was more excited than ever to do kids ministry. Because I saw with my eyes that kids can LOVE church, they can love worship, they can love prayer, and most importantly, they can be in a real and beautiful relationship with Jesus. As they sang those words at camp, I thought to myself, this is just the beginning for so many of these kids, they’re going to be disciples of the Kingdom of God and carry it with them wherever they go.

So, would you partner with us? Would you pray for us and our volunteers in this transition and time of change? And would you consider volunteering in kids ministry? This is not a babysitting gig; this is GOOD WORK of the Kingdom.

We’re so excited for September and the future of CPC kids!
