Dearly Beloved,
Have you ever wondered what kind of impact one simple act of kindness can make?
Just this past week, our church hosted a Back-to-School Fair where we packed over 100 backpacks full of school supplies. Some were given directly to our neighbors, and the rest will be delivered to local schools to bless students in need. On the surface, it may look like just pencils, paper, and backpacks — but in reality, it’s seeds of hope being planted. Seeds that remind families and children they are not forgotten, that they are seen and loved.
That’s what Kids Ministry is about too. Every week we have the privilege of planting seeds in the hearts of children — seeds that, over time, can grow into a lifelong relationship with Jesus.
I think of my grandma. She came from a dysfunctional home, with very little stability or guidance. But one day, a girl from her neighborhood invited her to kids’ church for a chance to win a bike. That one invitation changed everything. My grandma encountered the love of Jesus, and it set her on a path of faith that shaped her entire life — and even my life today.
That’s the power of investing in kids. What may look small in the moment can change a family, a generation, a legacy.
So, as we celebrate backpacks and back-to-school blessings, I also want to invite you to consider something bigger: could God be nudging you to join us in Kids Ministry? To come alongside parents and help raise up the next generation of believers? You never know how God might use your presence, your words, or your encouragement to change the course of a child’s life.
Because kids’ ministry isn’t childcare, it’s discipleship. It’s planting seeds for eternity.
With gratitude and hope,
Pastor Garrett
