Dearly Beloved,

Let me introduce you!
I am so excited about this Dearly Beloved and excited to introduce you all to Josh and his family! Josh and his family have moved to the Comox Valley this year to start up a Young Life program here in the valley.
I am so thankful for anyone who has a heart toward reaching the next generation. I am thankful for the various church youth programs, as well as Youth For Christ, and now Young Life.
There are roughly 10 '000 teenagers in the Comox Valley, and I want to see all 10' 000 praising the name of Jesus, and it is going to take all the help possible.
Praise Jesus for Josh, his family, and their obedience to walk in their calling.

Pastor Clay

Hello Comox Pentecostal Church family,

We are the Dooleys: myself, Josh, wife, Allie; son, Phinehas; and daughters, Ophelia and Aurelia. We are approaching our third month living in the Comox Valley since moving from our home of the last 15 years, Pemberton, BC.

Firstly, we just want to say thank you for your intentionality as a church when it comes to reaching out to newcomers. During our first visits to CPC back in the spring of this year, our children told us how much they loved Sunday school and all the fun they had. Roughly a week later, back in Pemberton, my wife received a phone call from an individual at the church, simply saying hello, thanking us for attending, and welcoming us back whenever we came back to the Island. That has left a lasting impression on us. Thank you!

We have been enjoying attending CPC since arriving back our first week. The inflatable water slide at the “back to school” event also left a lasting impression on our kiddos, as “we have to go back to the bouncy castle church.” But since then until now, we have been very encouraged by the values, prayer focus, individuals, and vision of the church. Recently, Allie and I agreed that CPC is now our home church.

The catalyst for moving to the valley has to do with my vocation as an Area Director for Young Life, a youth nonprofit organization aimed at stepping into the lives of teenagers, building genuine relationships, and sharing the Good News of Jesus with them through a variety of dynamic and fun ways. I have been on staff with Young Life for the past 12 years, with 3 years of leadership experience before joining staff.

Over the last year and a half, I have been helping the local Young Life Adult Committee here in the Comox Valley get Young Life off the ground. At one point in the process, the offer for me to take over the area director position was offered to which we ultimately said yes. I am very excited to be a part of building Young Life in the Comox Valley. I look forward to partnering with local churches and other parachurch ministries to work together with the goal of reaching high school students with the gospel.

If you would like to know more about Young Life, please do not hesitate to reach out or say hello on Sundays. I’m excited to share more opportunities for upcoming events, such as Leader Information nights and General Young Life Information nights, alongside the support of our local committee. Please reach out if you simply want to join our monthly newsletter list to keep in the loop of Young Life Comox Valley as we begin this beautiful journey.

I can be reached at jdooley@younglife.ca.

Thank you so much for welcoming us to your church; we look forward to meeting everyone.

In Christ,
The Dooley Family
