Yesterday I got a gift I have been quietly hoping for for quite some time.
For years I have been curious about the Hydropath Spa at the nearby Kingfisher Resort & Spa. I've heard about the experience from others, and I've read up online but have yet to try it myself. And this Christmas someone generously gave a gift card that now makes this a possibility. I'm thrilled!
Why do us humans tend to appreciate a spa experience, or a massage, or a manicure or pedicure for that matter? (yes, gents, it's ok for us to admit that we can appreciate these kind of things too — I sure do!)
In many cases, we appreciate these things because we know that it is good or is part of caring for ourselves. Sometimes spa experiences, massages, or mani/pedis feel good, but not always! Sometimes it's uncomfortable. So why do we pay for these treatments? Why do we set aside valuable time from our busy lives? Why do we endure when it's uncomfortable? Same reasons: we know it is good, we know it can be part of caring for ourselves. Have you ever had a massage? Wow, they can really hurt sometimes. But that's part of the healing. Maybe you've been in a sauna and experienced some pretty intense temperatures or you've had some callous filed away. While these can feel outside the norm of our everyday lives, we tend to find these kinds of things helpful or part of rejuvenating our bodies and health.

In less than one month, CPC is offering our next Encounter Weekend. The last one we had was three years ago and it was inspiring and powerful for the more than 100+ people that participated.
