Dearly Beloved,

It’s the best time of the year!

This is the first Dearly Beloved of December, so everyone should be ok with me saying that the Christmas season is truly upon us. Christmas is by far my favourite time of year, and I am loving every day leading up to Christmas!

Christmas is a season of hope—Jesus coming close to us in love, light, and grace. As a church, we want to reflect that same hope in our community through five special Christmas outreach opportunities. Each one is an invitation to shine the love of Christ in a practical and meaningful way.

1. Through Groups

Every year, we encourage our groups to spend time in prayer and discussion as they think of someone or something that they bring an extra special Christmas blessing to. For those of you in groups, please be praying and keep your eyes open for an opportunity to be a blessing

2. Stockings for Children

Over the last few weeks, many of you would have taken a stocking from the church and spent some time filling it up and praying over it! Bread of Life food share will be doing the great work of distributing them to children. Thank you for your participation, prayer, and generosity as you filled the stockings.

3. Christmas Eve Services at CPC

I am always looking forward to Christmas Eve here at CPC there is something so beautiful and special about gathering together on Christmas Eve. There are a couple of days every year where people seem to be more open to the idea of church, and Christmas Eve is one of those times, so please be praying about who you would love to bring.

4. Christmas Eve Service in Royston/Cumberland

This year at CPC, we have three Christmas services, 1, 3, and 5 pm, and we are trying something new! This year, our 1 pm service will be happening in Cumberland Community Church. We want to reach those in the Cumberland/Royston side of the Comox Valley, so we are really encouraging those of you in our church who call that area home to be there with your friends.

5. Book Giveaway

Pastor Garrett has written a children's Christmas story book titled “Hope Comes Home.” This year, at our Christmas Eve services, we are planning on sending each child home with a copy of the book. It would be amazing for so many children to learn about the true hope at Christmas time, the hope in Jesus Christ.

To bring all of this to life, we’re praying and believing for $5,000 in Christmas outreach giving.

Every contribution—large or small—helps us share the hope of Jesus with more people than ever before.

Let’s bring hope home together this Christmas.
