Dearly Beloved CPC family,

Our first weekend with you has finally arrived! Moving forward, a pastoral team member will begin each of these e-bulletins with a note from their heart to you. This will be an opportunity for us to share something pastoral, a word of encouragement, an update or report with you on a weekly basis. This week I want to share with you about some upcoming priorities for me.

As you can imagine, many, many, priorities come our way as Laura and I begin in leadership here at CPC. All of them are important as we look to discern their place in CPC's short term and long term future.

I want to share 4 Priorities we have for our first 2 years:

1. Getting to know the Congregation and Community and the opportunities and needs here.

2. COVID Response

  • Strengthen our online presence (streamed services, website, social media).
  • Continue to work with "re-start team."
  • Ensure we implement effective ways to evangelize and disciple in the midst of a pandemic.

3. The Stability and Health of the Church

  • The last several years have included a lot of transition for CPC (not to mention the current pandemic); stability and health are important ongoing priorities.
  • We want to provide steady presence, preaching and ministry.
  • Engage Assessment Tools and Vitalization Coaching from the PAOC as well as give focus to relationship building with our council and staff to help these be strong years for CPC.

4.  Discover, Articulate and Implement fresh Vision

  • Work with Council, Staff and Congregation through Town Halls and prayer groups to discern God's vision for CPC.
  • Articulate Vision with clarity and compelling language.
  • Form strategy and move vision and values into action.
  • Our vision for the future will provide the grid we need to ensure our church activity, building and ministries are aligned with God's call for CPC.

We look forward to getting to work on all of this!

Grace & peace,
Pastor Mike
