Thank you for your continued prayer for our student ministries in our church.

Last week was such a great week! I was so thrilled with both of our in-person activities for kids and youth last week.

Kidz Zone:
Last Sunday, Dakota, Amanda and I hosted 12 kids for our in-person Kidz Zone Event. Close to half of the kids were ones that I had never met before, which was awesome!!! We had a great time of games, worship and we had a scavenger hunt throughout the church that went through the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. The feedback was great from both the kids and parents.

Here are some upcoming kids/preteen events...

  • June 6 - Grade 4- 8, 530-7pm. Road Hockey on the church parking lot. Bring a hockey stick and goalie gear if you have any, also bring a friend!
  • June 13 - In-Person Kidz Zone Event - Pastor Mike and Pastor Laura will be speaking to the kids for our Generational Night. We will also be playing games and worshipping together.
  • Every Sunday morning at 930AM we have Kidz Zone on Zoom. Message trevor@cpclife.com for a Zoom invite.

Historymaker:
Last Friday we had 36 students join us for our outdoor/indoor Historymaker Youth Night. We started the night with a bunch of games that included spike ball, basketball and Nine Square. After the games we had pizza together while watching the Historymaker livestream. We had a phenomenal setup already to go, but, because it was too bright outside, we were unable to see the picture on our new inflatable screen. It was unfortunate, but all the students and leaders had a great attitude about it and we ended up watching the service in the auditorium. This year Youth Pastor Ruben Valeny from Edmonton preached a great encouraging word on being “brighter,” based around 2nd Corinthians 3:18, “And we all with unhidden faces, see the brightness of the Lord, who makes us brighter and brighter into the same image of the Lord, who is Spirit.” Our students were encouraged to think about two great impacting questions 1) Is Jesus the source of your light indoor life? and  2).  Are there times in your life when your life radiates Jesus? I believe wholeheartedly God touched many of the hearts in our teenagers, and encouraged them to live a life that is holy and pleasing to God and to be the light that God desires them to be.

Thank you again for the prayers, my prayer is that our students will be history makers in their schools, neighbourhoods and families.
